Saddle up, ride and have fun!
Raleigh HOG offers some great riding opportunities with our weekly group chapter rides. We also encourage members to take off on their own and enjoy the great North Carolina highways and byways on their Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Our Chapter Patch Rides let you enjoy a variety of scenic, fun rides to destinations others have been all the while affording you the ability to earn a patch that is unique to our DEV - Raleigh NC Chapter.
Ride 365
Don't forget to look at the 'Ride 365 Info' section on this website. National has fun challenges set up for riders that can be done as a solo rider or with a group.
2024 Raleigh Christmas Parade
The parade is on Saturday, November 23rd this year. As mentioned in prior monthly chapter meetings, we can once again ride our motorcycles in the Raleigh Christmas Parade!
As most of you are aware, the City has put new rules and requirements into place as a measure to ensure safety of participants and spectators alike. Here is a summary of changes and need to know items:
-
Inspection of vehicles must occur before the parade. This inspection verifies brake lights, horn, tires, and mirrors on the bike, as well as the operator’s license with endorsement, registration, and insurance. TRHD has agreed to complete the visual inspection and verification via the attached form. We will collect these forms from service on the morning of the parade.
-
We have to send in verification of insurance on every bike in the parade in advance. Those intending to ride should submit a copy or picture of their insurance card to Justine H. ([email protected]) by Nov 15, 2024, if possible.
-
The parade rules are noted in the links below. Highlights include:
-
No throwing of objects or handing anything out (as in previous years)
-
Riders (operators) must be 25+ years of age and have a valid license with motorcycle endorsement
-
Windshields cannot be decorated
-
Each participant must sign a copy of the Release, Indemnity, and Covenant Not to Sue (linked below) whether riding (including passengers) or walking. This form will be available and can be signed the morning of the parade.
-
Those operating motorcycles must sign a copy of the Operator Safety Acknowledgement (linked below). This form will be available and can be signed the morning of the parade.
If you don’t wish to ride your motorcycle, we may have limited seating in the TRHD truck, and we also need members to walk with the banners. Please reach out to Justine noting your intentions regarding participation.
